Description
A fascinating little mammal that can be seen in the forests of India is the Dhole, also known as the Indian wild dog or Asiatic wild dog.
The dhole is a highly social animal, living in large clans ranging from 12 and going upto 40 individuals and containing multiple breeding females.
This is a diurnal pack hunter and targets medium and sometimes large sized ungulates. The animal is on the endangered list and it is estimated that the Dhole population is between 2000 to 2500 individuals.
This was my first sighting of the Dhole in India. Shot in the Tadoba National Park in February 2018

Fabulous close up photograph of a Dhole, with great colors, light, perspective, and composition, Pravine! Thank you for sharing a photo of an endangered wild dogspecies I've never seen or heard of previously! F/L

Pravine, this is amazing. I love this image but more so, your description. It is very educational and will hopefully bring some awareness to the struggles of this gorgeous animal. Well done
